FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does a locksmith cost in Halifax?

It depends on the job. A simple rekey is different from an all keys lost situation or a commercial lock install. I give you a price before I start, and  what I quote is what you pay. No surprises when I show up.

Q: How fast can you get to Halifax?

Most of the time I'm there within 30-45 minutes. I'm based in Upper Hammonds Plains so Halifax is close. If I'm already on a job I'll give you an honest time frame, I won't tell you 20 minutes and show up an hour later.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, credit and debit cards or Etransfers. I have a mobile payment terminal with me on every job.

Q: Do I need to book in advance?

For emergencies, lockouts, urgent repairs,  just call, no booking needed. For bigger jobs like commercial installs, master key systems or multiple locks, it's better to schedule ahead so I can come prepared with the right hardware.

Q: Do you work on all car makes and models?

For lockouts yes! I can unlock any car, truck or SUV. Keys are a different story. I can cut and program keys for most common makes and models but not everything. Best to call me first and tell me your year, make and model and I'll let you know right away if I can help or point you in the right direction.

Q: Can you rekey or replace locks for my business?

Absolutely. I work with storefronts, offices, warehouses, property management companies and housing co-ops across Halifax. Whether it's a single lock or a full master key system, give me a call and we'll figure out the best solution for your setup.

Q: What if my car key fob needs programming?

I carry programming equipment for most makes and models. In most cases I can program your fob on the spot, at your location. Much cheaper than going to a dealership.

Q: My tenant lost their keys — can you rekey without replacing the whole lock?

In most cases yes. Rekeying is faster and cheaper than replacing the lock entirely. I work with a lot of landlords and property managers across Halifax and it's one of the most common jobs I do.
